“Follow the yellow brick road” in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, continues to thrill audiences worldwide.

AUDITION INFORMATION

YOUTH AUDITIONS (ages 8-14)
Sunday, December 3, 2023 – Two Sessions
Session 1 – Registration at 8:00 am (audition process will run 8:30 am to 12:00 pm)
Session 2 – Registration at 1:00 pm (audition process will run 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm)

ADULT AUDITIONS (ages 15 to “infinity”)
Monday, December 4 – Thursday, December 7
5:30 pm – Registration
6 pm – Workshops & Auditions begin
Friday, December 8, 2023 – Callbacks as needed

Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

AUDITION REGISTRATION PROCESS

1. Complete the Audition Form. This includes a policies and procedures form and a parent letter if the auditioner is under 18 years of age as of December 3, 2023. If so, a parent/guardian must sign all documents.

2. Our stage manager, David Bailey, will send you an email to confirm the form was submitted.

3. Audition registration is now open. Email [email protected] with your preferred audition date, and the subject line of “OZ Auditions.” A time slot will be assigned when you arrive on the day of your audition. You will receive a receipt within 24 hours. If you do not, please call the Lyric office at 802-658-1484 to troubleshoot.

Where can I register?

Registration details will be released after Kick-Off.

What can I expect in my audition?

Unless otherwise noted, auditions will consist of a movement workshop/audition as well as a “traditional audition” which includes the performance of a vocal selection and a reading selection. Vocal workshops to go through music will be held prior to the “traditional audition” on the day of your audition.

Where are auditions held?

All auditions for this production are in-person only, and will be held at the Lyric Creative Space.

 

Can I pre-register for auditions?

Pre-Registration is strongly encouraged and may be completed after Kick-Off. You only need to attend one Audition Date.

What footwear should I bring?

Please bring a pair of “indoor” shoes to wear. You will be removing your “outdoor footwear” once you enter the Lyric Creative Space.

What is the minimum age requirement to audition?

Everyone auditioning must be at least 8 years old by December 3, 2023.
